A Gift
Move, love, with one exquisite turn,
One life-changing perspective,
One smile, one giggle,
One touch of hand,
One stare, glance, closed-eyes,
Or glance again,
One meeting, one you
In this crowded earth,
And I have loved again.
I have loved again,
Crowded the earth with you and me, us,
World within a world.
I sleep—wake—sleep to touch…
In hope to touch your hand,
Someday.
You smile, giggle,
That I have come to think
That maybe, just maybe,
I want to be with someone,
This time,
For a very long time.
I move on hoping
That you’ll turn for me,
In my direction,
For me to realize…
That in this very world,
I’ve breathed enough…
Breathing still…
Thankful, that God
Has breathed life into you…
Thankful, for the gift of love…
Thankful,
For you…
